In their own words

RC

Rachel Chong

Operations Director · Financial Services, Singapore

"We started with a Marginal Note because we genuinely did not know where AI would fit. The report that came back was more honest than I expected — it told us two things we had assumed were good candidates were probably not ready for automation, and pointed clearly to one process that was. That kind of candour is worth paying for."

Nizam Farouk

Managing Partner · Legal Practice, Singapore

"What I valued most was the handover document. We have had consultants come in before and leave us with something we could not read six months later. The Tepi companion document is written as if for a careful reader who was not in the room — which is exactly what we needed, given our staff turnover."

Hwang Tae-young

Head of Strategy · Logistics Company, Singapore

"The four-week trial period was slower than I would have liked — but Tepi was clear from the start that this was by design, and I think they were right. Our team's questions during that period shaped the final document in ways that made it considerably more useful. Four stars because the scheduling was occasionally hard to coordinate."

Priya Lakshmi

COO · Professional Services, Singapore

"We engaged Tepi for an Annotated Programme covering three workflows over five months. The fortnightly notes were something our board found particularly useful — they provided a running record of what we had tried, what we had learned, and what we had set aside. The closing report was professional and, notably, did not try to sell us more work."

Benedict Koh

IT Director · Healthcare Administration, Singapore

"We had concerns about data handling in the healthcare space, and Tepi addressed them directly in the written scope agreement before any work began. The data use agreement was specific and sensible. I would have marked them down if the documentation had been vague — it was not."

Yeo Mei Ling

Business Owner · Consultancy, Singapore

"We are a small practice, and the Marginal Note was right-sized for us. The report was clear about why one of the candidates we were excited about was probably not a good fit — something I might not have accepted from a larger firm trying to close a bigger deal. Honest work."

Three engagements described in detail

Case Study 01 · Legal Practice · Annotated Build · 7 weeks

Draft-reply assistant for a four-person litigation team

Challenge

A mid-sized litigation practice spent an estimated 30% of associate time on drafting routine client update letters — responses to predictable queries that nonetheless required careful professional language and accurate factual reference to the file.

What Tepi Built

A structured-prompt draft-reply assistant that drew on a curated file summary prepared by the associate. The system produced a draft for review — never a final letter — and the companion document described explicitly the categories of letter for which the assistant should not be used without significant revision.

Result

Associates reported spending roughly half the previous time on covered letter types. The practice manager noted the companion document was used during induction for two new associates. The workflow has been in use for over five months without modification.

"The workflow description in the handover document was clear enough that our new associate — who joined three months after the build — could read it independently and understand both what the tool does and where she should not rely on it." — Managing Partner

Case Study 02 · Logistics Operator · Annotated Programme · 4 months

Internal Q&A helper and structured-summary tool across two teams

Challenge

A regional logistics company had accumulated a large library of internal policy documents. Staff frequently asked HR and operations questions that the documents answered — but finding the relevant section was slow, and responses were sometimes inconsistent across teams.

What Tepi Built

Over four months, two connected workflows: an internal Q&A assistant for policy queries, and a structured-summary helper for meeting notes. Each received its own companion document. The fortnightly notes captured a significant design revision in month two, when early trial results showed the Q&A assistant was over-confident on certain edge cases.

Result

Both workflows are maintained by an in-house staff member who attended all build sessions. The company's HR team reported a measurable reduction in repeat internal queries, and the meeting-summary workflow is now used across three departments, extended by internal staff rather than by Tepi.

"The fortnightly notes were, in retrospect, the most useful thing. They gave us a record of why certain decisions were made — which became important when we wanted to extend the Q&A tool and needed to understand what constraints had been set and why." — Head of Strategy

Case Study 03 · Small Consultancy · Marginal Note · 1 week

Observation and assessment for a five-person strategy consultancy

Challenge

The consultancy's principals had read widely about AI and had formed opinions about which of their processes were candidates. They wanted an independent written view before committing to any change.

What Tepi Did

A half-day observation of three processes, followed by a marginal-note report. Two of the three processes the principals had identified as candidates were noted as probably not ready for AI — one because the process required contextual judgement that current tools handle poorly, one because the volume did not justify the integration cost. One new candidate was identified that the principals had not considered.

Result

The consultancy decided not to proceed with further AI work at that time — a conclusion the principals described as worth SGD 195 to arrive at in writing rather than discovering after a more expensive engagement. Six months later they returned for an Annotated Build on the candidate Tepi had identified.

"The report told us to pause, and we paused. When we came back, the Annotated Build was straightforwardly useful. The Marginal Note saved us from spending money on the wrong thing." — Business Owner
